for 10-string guitar

devant was written for ten-string guitar tuning in F-Gb-A-Bb-E-A-D-G-B-E, with E string prepared by a paper clip close to the bridge. The composition imitates the drastic change of mind states: from agitation, excitement, nervousness to confusion; from anticipation, expectation to impatience; from free expression to enjoyment……

devant was commissioned by and written for Belgium guitarist Myriam Bogaerts in 2004, and revised in 2005.
