The melodic line of the original folk tune was constructed primarily by interval third. Rain Phantasy was based on this intervallic relationship. This composition was an attempt to mimic the sudden afternoon storm, and the fun and frustration that brings. Heavy rain develops after the storm where the music gets accelerated in the second part of the piece.
